So the beautiful days of summer are here. I have been so busy with work and a move into a new house that I haven't had much time for the computer. Zephyr is now 14 1/2 and struggling a bit with his health. Gone are the days of hiking the hills of the Bruce. Flatter walks and shorter ones as well. He still enjoys life but sleeps a little more than before. He has lost most off his hearing as well. I have been enjoying lots of quiet walks alone with him, without the other dogs. Other dogS you ask? Yes I welcomed another border collie into our home a few months back. Already a year old but with so much to learn. His name is Timber, and he is a love. He is another black tri from working lines. I'll leave you with a few recent photos of the gang!
About dogs and dogsports! Most often in images...not words! In memory of Zephyr...my heart dog.

Keep on Truckin'
Wow I haven't posted in over a year....
So much has gone on in the past year. I will update more later but for now a photo of Zephyr who turned 14 back in January. Love this dog so damn much.

Thirteen Years Old
Zephyr turned thirteen last week! How truly blessed I have been to share all his years with him. I took these two photos this week with the fresh snow. I don't think he looks his age here. Some days he does, but usually he still bounces along with a smile :)

Looking for Warmer Days
I am not a winter person. I still get out with the dogs, but I really do not enjoy it most days. However earlier in the week we had temps just below zero instead of the -20 and a wind chill on top of that. In fact we had 2 days in a row that were this "warm". Off to the lake to run on the beach. Perfect for Zephyr who likes the flatter places to run, when there is ice and snow, now that his back end is weakening somewhat. Of course I had to insist he stay on shore and off the ice flows...he seems not to worry about his aging body as I do. The steep and many hills are reserved for better footing.
I find it peaceful to walk along the empty shore. Few people go there this time of year. The slate grey skies would welcome some sun no doubt....I know I would. These are happy walks. Peaceful walks. Sigur Ros type of walks! Think I'll go there again tomorrow!
